FAQ

Blocks, gouges and getting a clean print

Why the first print smudges, and what actually fixes it.

Ordering and delivery

What does delivery cost and how long does it take?

Free on orders of ₹1,499 and above, otherwise a flat ₹59 anywhere in India. We pack within 1 business day in Lucknow and transit runs 2-7 business days — 2-4 days to a metro, 4-7 days further out. Door to door, plan for 3–8 business days.

How can I pay?

UPI in advance, or Cash on Delivery. Cards are not accepted — no credit card payments, no debit card payments, and no PayPal.

How do I track my order?

A tracking link is emailed and texted to you on the day of dispatch. Courier scans can lag a day, especially over a weekend.

Returns and problems

Can I return something I have changed my mind about?

Yes, within 10 days of delivery, provided it is unused and still in its original packaging with the invoice. Full conditions are on the Refund and Returns Policy page.

What if it arrives broken or does not work?

Film the unboxing, then tell us within 48 hours. We replace it or refund it in full and we pay the return shipping. To be clear about what that is: a replacement route for an item that arrived damaged or dead, not a six-month or manufacturer warranty, and we do not claim to offer one.

Carving and printing at home

Soft rubber or traditional lino?

Soft carving rubber for beginners and for fine detail — it cuts like firm cheese and needs no heating. Traditional lino holds a crisper edge for large flat areas but must be warmed and is unforgiving of a slip. Most people should start with rubber.

Why is my print smudging?

Almost always too much ink. Roll it out until the brayer makes a soft hiss rather than a sticky peeling sound, then ink the block lightly and take two passes. Pressure is rarely the problem.

Can I print on fabric?

Yes, with a fabric ink and a heat set — ordinary block ink will wash straight out. Each ink listing says whether it is paper-only or textile, because this is the most common wasted purchase in the category.

How do I keep blocks from going hard?

Store them flat, wrapped, out of sunlight and away from a hot wall. Indian summers age an unwrapped block quickly, and a hard block is the single commonest reason carving goes wrong.

Do you have a shop I can visit?
